Melissa will perform with her Quartet in Jazz UV, Xalapa, Mexico next november 7 at Casa lago UV,  during the International Jazz UV Festival.

Melissa is excited to play with Jeff “Tain” Watts, one of the most in demand jazz drummers in the world today, at the Teatro Estado next november 9.

Spring! It feels so nice to walk outside. Lately I’ve felt very much inspired and I’ve written a ton of new music. I feel really lucky to be playing with my favorite musicians and people! I can’t wait to keep playing with them, tour and also record. I am ready to record my second album. It’s been more than a year since I moved to NY and I feel that everything has changed so much… I’ve been living so many great experiences that I feel my music been changing and growing with all that’s been happening around me.

Life in NY is hard, but I can say that moving to the Big Apple was the best decision I ever took, and I feel so exited about life and music that there is no better place for me than here, hands down.

This is my second week in Spain and just left Malaga, where I taught and played with some great local musicians.

I also had the great opportunity to play and hang with The Fringe and Peter Bernstein….what a great experience! I learned so much just talking to them…  Great people and great musicians!

I am now in Madrid, enjoying the beatifull weather! Today I have an interview for Discopolis , a radio program on the Radio 3 station. And after that I will be doing a master class at ESMUVA College of Music…

I can´t wait to see all these great musicians from Madrid…!
